Update November 30th 2009
Oxon v Cornwall
The weekend of November 21/22nd saw the 2nd team travel to Cornwall to play in St Austell against their 1st team. We came out of the Singles 3-1 down - Kathryn Schutterlin only victor. We only picked up 1 Men’s doubles out of 4 (Paul Casey/Martin Graham). The ladies stared winning all 4 (Sarah Torgerson/Kathryn Schutterlin and Becky Foster/ Claire Tait). That meant we went into the mixed at 6-6, Martin Graham/Sarah Torgersen won at first, Paul Casey/Becky Foster lost at 2, making it 7-7. At 3rd mixed Phil Sayer/Claire Tait won 27-25 in the third end, giving us the match 8-7, making the journey back a lot sweeter.
Oxon v. Somerset
The weekend of 28/29 November saw us go to Crewkerne in Somerset to play their 2nd team. After the singles we were 3-1 up (victories for Phil Sayer, Will Green, Kathryn Scutterlin, and Emma Cramond lost 23-21 in the third end). The Men won all 4 (2 each Paul Casey/Martin Graham, Phil Sayer/Will Green). The ladies won 3 (Becky Foster/Claire Tait 2, Emma Cramond/Kathryn Schutterlin 1) Going into the mixed 10-2 up. Martin/Emma won at 1, Paul/Becky won at 2, Phil/Claire lost at 3. Giving us a 12-3 win
This has been two long weekends and to come away with two victories and 5 points is great.
